Hi all,

Since the LibreItalia instance of Moodle is pretty old (3.7.8 build 20200914; 3.9 is out), I think that it could be worthy to migrate the course over TDF infra, also to help with the course tools issue Prashant and Olivier are experiencing.

The present task to coordinate and seek a shared process behind it.

IIRC there's the possibility to export a backup of a single course from the command line and restore it to another instance:
https://docs.moodle.org/39/en/Course_backup
https://docs.moodle.org/39/en/Course_restore

I think this would be a good path, but please advice otherwise :)

As discussed during our in-person meeting in Munich, we are looking into videos for C++ lectures:

Create our own videos - eg based on https://design.blog.documentfoundation.org/2018/02/28/easyhacking-all-about-terminology/ or https://design.blog.documentfoundation.org/2018/04/14/easyhacking-how-to-make-a-feature-optional/ - for getting code pointers (use bug #123083 as an example?)

Infrastructure - Task #2893 (Closed): evaluate cloud hostinghttps://redmine.documentfoundation.org/issues/28932019-05-28T12:25:35ZFlorian Effenbergerfloeff@documentfoundation.org

From the FOSDEM discussion:

Cloud hosting

trying to avoid maintaining our own Gluster

for CI-stuff, renting resource at Amazon too expensive.

evaluate migrating a few of them makes sense.

helpful - widely shared

try to get rid of distributed file-system / crash-recovery

not strongly in favour of current setup

in favour of hosting ourselves.

not in love with Gluster.

independent from last 2 glitches.

not directly related, not the reason to look.

buying new H/W for CI - is it ?

perhaps don't need more H/W but shift things around.

the non-CPU bound loads into the cloud, and use H/W for CI.

current hypervisor wouldn't make good build-bots

Marketing - Task #2577 (Closed): investigate free open source project advertising on Stack Overflowhttps://redmine.documentfoundation.org/issues/25772018-03-20T14:26:36ZMike Saundersmike.saunders@documentfoundation.org

In short: Stack Overflow wants to "let the programming community use our remnant ad inventory space to publicize open-source projects in need of programmer assistance."

More details: https://meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/362773/open-source-advertising-1h-2018

It looks like we need to create a graphic, asking for contributors, and if it gets enough upvotes it goes into the advertising cycle. And it appears to be done twice a year, so it may be better to wait until the second half of 2018 to be "fresh" and get more exposure.
Marketing - Task #2389 (Closed): create an infographic describing ways to contribute to LOhttps://redmine.documentfoundation.org/issues/23892017-10-23T12:35:22ZMike Saundersmike.saunders@documentfoundation.org

Recently I made this infographic for donations:

https://blog.documentfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/donate.png

An idea came up at LibOCon: create something similar, but targeted at the community, and showing quick ways to get involved, eg:

Write code for an Easy Hack

Update documentation

Translate the interface

...and so forth. We could reuse some of the icons that we've bought as well. Putting this in as Qlater as I won't have time to work on it for a while, but it's a good idea that I don't want to forget.
