Description

Our current virtualization hosts need to be upgraded from Debian 7 to Debian 8, to benefit from newer KVM tools and other updates.

This affects:

~~excelsior~~
~~falco~~
~~website host (possibly not before Q4)~~ -> no need, see #1465
galaxy (possibly not before Q4) -> no need as we have new backup servers in place already

Do we have a list of machines that still need updating?
For the server migrations, the new systems will run Debian 8 right from the start
How many existing VMs still need an upgrade?
What's the plan with Ubuntu 14.04 machines - keeping it that way until EOL, or reinstalling, as a direct upgrade from Ubuntu to Debian won't work?
