Silverstripe -- Events Slider Shows Image Name in White
Added by Marc Pare over 9 years ago.
Updated over 9 years ago.
Description
I recently updated the events carousel/slider but notice a strange behaviour. It looks like the image name is posted at the top of each image in the slider - the image name is in white -. This causes any of the images that get close enough to the edge of the slider window to show the image name but the white cuts into the image colours.
The reason you don't see anything on the LibreOffice conference slide is because the logo does not get close to the image name --the name is still posted on that slide in white.
The fix is to make the slider NOT show any image name on any slides.

the title is shown when the image has a title set - so when you edit the image and remove the title, it will disappear..
But I change it so it will never be added as text, only used in the image's alt attribute
oh btw: the "Hamburg Hackfest" one is a "dirty" image - someone did use a "soft" brush to clear the area where the new date is put - so that glitch is in the image, not caused by writing text over the image :-)

Sorry, that was me. Fixed.

Thanks. Also fixed the Software Freedom Day ... enlarged it so that it better fits the slider box.
It would be nice if there was a function in Silverstripe where you could "add" or "remove" the number of slides in the slider. We will sometimes need more and sometimes less sliders. It would be better than leaving people with the obvious impression that we can only post 3 events at a time.
