Description

This has to be removed: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Vote_for_Enhancement
Preferably replace content with an explanation that this is not how things work and that something like Launchpad's Bug heat feature would be better:
http://blog.launchpad.net/bug-tracking/bug-heat
https://dev.launchpad.net/Bugs/BugHeat
Mentioned in: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Talk:QA/Projects/Ideas/Self-Hosted_Bugtracker

I really do like the idea of the bug heat system, but i do also think that we should provide a voting system (not onwiki) even if votes don't count in what to implement first!

What's the simplest way for us to implement a 'heat' system? We've talked about repurposing the Bugzilla voting system (as long as we can keep the bugs from filling up with cruft) but maybe there's something even easier?

What speaks against the simple vote system? (maybe without sending new mails if only change is the vote)

I mean, yeah, do develop a heat system similar to launchpad. In the end it doesn't matter as long you do not take the CCs of the bug ticket but the vote count. Until then, do not delete the vote system onwiki. ;-)

Page marked with template to indicate out of date content. We'll investigate replacement for voting system in coming weeks.

Out-of-date template removed from page and users responded:

Editor's summary: updated TOC. The page is not outdated, by the way!
(I removed {{maybe-outdated}}, because the page is not outdated and the content is up to date)

So we'll need to handle this one a bit more carefully. I'm keeping priority at Normal, but this does confirm user interest in having wiki page, Bugzilla system, or alternative for this purpose.

It might be some time before a viable alternative voting/'bug heat' system is available.

I like launchpad's wording of "affects me too" - so avoid the notation of "vote" as a mean to create a "ranking" according to priority, but a way to express "this annoys me too/I would like to see this fixed" without the need for spamming comments.

Moving to Cloph's pile, but un-milestoned yet - let's revisit next year if we still need this and who carries it out; so no action required from your side for the moment, Cloph
