Task #2107
closedCreate a mail alias for documentation team
100%
Description
So far we tried to catch new collaborators with a link to our iRC. Unfortunately this requires permanent connection to IRC, which is not realistic and people that comes to IRC wants an immediate respose, other wise they go away.
So let's try now to have a mail alias for the purpose. With a mail alias, the interrested party will know the response can take some hours or the day after to respond.
Suggested alias name: documentation@libreoffice.org -> olivier.hallot@libreoffice.org

Guilhem, are you savvy with our Postfix setup on pumbaa already and can have a look?
Basically, you just need to edit /etc/postfix/virtual
and run a postmap
(The setup itself is a bit old, working on that...)
If you're lost, let me know, then I'll deal with it.

Sure, done :-) I didn't reload postfix though; the new alias will only be effective once the cleanup(8) daemon notices the file has changed (it's a short-lived process so it shouldn't take more than a few minutes).
On the long run I think all of this should be ported to the LDAP directory :-)

Thanks a lot!
Olivier, can you give it a try? ;-)
On the long run I think all of this should be ported to the LDAP
directory :-)
Let's discuss this in time - no objections per se, but before moving
e-mail to LDAP I'd like to have it perform for other infra services
first. :)

Sorry to say, but it is not working.
I get a mail delivery return, when I send a mail to documentation@libreoffice.org.
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:
documentation@libreoffice.org
Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain libreoffice.org by mx1.heinlein-support.de. [91.198.250.10].
The error that the other server returned was:
577 5.1.1 <documentation@libreoffice.org>: Recipient address rejected: undeliverable address: host dobby.heinlein-support.de[91.198.250.9] said: 550 5.1.1 <documentation@libreoffice.org> User doesn't exist: documentation@libreoffice.org (in reply to RCPT TO command)

Interesting. I configured pumbaa which is the MX for `documentfoundation.org`, but mails send to the `libreoffice.org` domain are routed through different MX:es
~$ dig +short libreoffice.org MX
10 mx2.heinlein-support.de.
10 mx1.heinlein-support.de.
20 mx3.heinlein-support.de.
I don't think I have access to these boxes. Florian, what's the new way to add aliases under the `libreoffice.org` domain? (They are listed in pumbaa's mail server config but don't seem to be used anymore.)

pumbaa is only responsible for documentation.org accounts
If you added libreoffice.org as target for pumbaa, please remove it
again :-) That domain is handled externally, just some @tdf addresses
forward to it
Sophie is managing the libreoffice.org addresses, can you poke her, Guilhem?

Yeah sure! Sorry, I should have checked the MX records before :-P
