ticket #3265 (now closed) didn't solve anything here on my POV. I really don't understand that previous ticket answers :(
I've no knowledge of websites settings and behaviour, so the problem lies somewhere between chair an keyboard, but more detailed instructions would be very welcomed.

Thanks,
--
Jean-Francois Nifenecker
Extensions - Task #3603: How to make FR description show in the extension web page?https://redmine.documentfoundation.org/issues/3603?journal_id=225992022-06-15T09:25:58ZJean-Francois Nifeneckerjean-francois.nifenecker@sud-ouest.org

BTW, the Extension author help (last link in the extensions page About menu), pointing to: https://extensions.libreoffice.org/en/home/using-this-site-as-an-extension-maintainer/, says:

8< --------------------------
Translating your extension entries

You can translate extension entries, make sure to save in the default language (English) first. [...]
-------------------------- >8

As for my extensions, I clearly didn't do that. That's possibly where the problem lies. But this doesn't explain the "mixed-case" as stated in the #3265 ticket, though.

I'd emphasize that a non-English speaking author would (as I did) first write a description in his-her mother language and then (possibly) enter the description in English.

So I'd suggest to reverse the requirement: non-EN first, then EN. If this is the actual reason for the apparent dysfunctioning.

Assignee set to Christian Lohmaier

Target version set to Q3/2022

On top of the page you see English | French and you get French content if you have entered it. The example has only English content. Help page says you have to create a page first, click on a different language, edit the content, save, etc. Do you think this needs more work?

We pondered over a possible simplification by creating all languages by default and switching between EN, FR, DE... on top of the content page. That makes it hopefully more clear.
Extensions - Task #3603: How to make FR description show in the extension web page?https://redmine.documentfoundation.org/issues/3603?journal_id=228692022-10-15T13:36:33ZJean-Francois Nifeneckerjean-francois.nifenecker@sud-ouest.org

I had a look at the Maintainer how-to page (https://extensions.libreoffice.org/en/home/using-this-site-as-an-extension-maintainer/)

First, the overall process is described based on the fact that the user is using EN as a primary language. One should find a prominent note at the top about the translation being possible and being described somewhere at the bottom ("Translating your extension entries" chapter).

Second, the said "Translating your extension entries" chapter refers to some "purple icons". Though my eyesight remains quite good :) I had a hard time finding those icons on screen. Could they be made more visible in the pages and in the help as well?
Extensions - Task #3603: How to make FR description show in the extension web page?https://redmine.documentfoundation.org/issues/3603?journal_id=229602022-12-13T09:39:31ZChristian Lohmaiercloph@documentfoundation.org

Status changed from New to Resolved

made the howto more explicit to use English as default language and added pointer to the translation process at the top along with it.
The icons are fixed/won't change them - after all it is just the title, the short summary and the full description entries that have the icon next to them.
Extensions - Task #3603: How to make FR description show in the extension web page?https://redmine.documentfoundation.org/issues/3603?journal_id=231562023-05-31T09:48:11ZFlorian Effenbergerfloeff@documentfoundation.org
