Task #3703
open@LibreOfficeBugs should be on Mastodon or Bluesky instead of Xitter
0%
Description
The @libreofficebugs account is no longer publicly viewable unless you have an account on Xitter, which greatly reduces its usefulness. And, given the antisemitic and conspiranoic views of the platform's new owner, I believe the TDF should no longer invest time and money (due to the automatic feed part of it) in that platform, at least for this secondary account.

Why leave Twitter/X rather than creating a Bluesky account/page/whatever, in addition?
It's not as though we're super-engaged on Twitter, anyway.
In fact, looking at this:
and this:
I don't see any posts since October 2024. And that's when supposedly, Bugzilla status changes should be fed there automatically.

Indeed: zealotry is less likely to provide effective outreach than as much presence as is feasible (or useful, in acquiring new users). To counteract an expected rebuttal, presence on a platform isn't inherently tacit endorsement of any attribute of that platform. If it is ever misconstrued as such, an explicit statement to the contrary in the profile's biography section shall, presumably, be sufficient.
I suggest that this issue be split into two: one to discuss discontinuation on X.com, and another to discuss creating accounts on federated platforms (like Bluesky, Lemmy, and Mastodon; et cetera).
