Description
LibreOffice 4.2.4~rc2 is due to be released in calendar week 18 of 2014 (Called releaseweek from here on)
This task includes:
1/ Notifying developers on the incoming tag (ideally on Thursday/Friday of releaseweek-1)
2/ Clarifying and either abandoning or mergeing open issues on gerrit (ideally on Monday of releaseweek)
3/ Creating the tag after all changes on gerrit have been either abandoned or merged (ideally on Tuesday of releaseweek)
4/ Build from tag on all platforms
5/ Upload builds
6/ Announce build on appropriate channels (to clarified) on Thursday of releaseweek
7/ Copy this task to for the next release candidate of the series

wonder why I didn't close this already.
I could create tickets for each release, but I don't really see the benefit for those reoccurring tasks.
or maybe asked otherwise: what status updated would you like to see in the ticket?

4.2.4 is obviously handled, so yeah -- please close. The idea was to have a checklist for all the things to be done for the release and nod that off (and possibly handle special situations as in "we urgently need another patch in" etc.).
For the future, use this at your discretion, but such a checklist might prevent some missed bits sometimes.
