Bug #69
closedwiki getting slower (generation time increased - bump mid Nov)
0%
Description
Wiki seems to run into performance problems according to piwik's page-generation time report.
(generation time = time until download is done for the user, i.e. creation time on server as well as time to download).
While visits stay more or less constant at around 50 to 60.000 pageviews/week, the average load time is now nearly 2 seconds. Wiki wasn't blazingly fast from the beginning (around 1s generation time), but now that time almost doubled, and nearly 4 times the generation time of silverstripe or plone pages (both around 0.5s)
For comparison the numbers from the www.libreoffice.org domain: page creation time stays constant, just below 0.5s with around 700.000 pageviews/week (for de.libreoffice it is around 0.3s - as the server is located in germany, the difference in distance explains this)
There's a bump in November (Nov 17-20). Remeber to have changed anything back then?

I think in November the SQL load problems got worse. We still don't know
the culprit for that, but I think it's related to the wiki. SQL slow =
wiki slow...

- File generationtimes.png generationtimes.png added
- Status changed from New to Closed
generation times did settle at < 1.5s on average, so while there was an increase back then, it didn't get slower and slower.
So closing.
