Description

RedmineCRM needs to be deployed in a joint effort between infra and the ED, to fit in current Redmine processes
Rationale for deploying it is to manage journalist contacts

The plugin is not yet available for Redmine 3.0
As 3.0 has a few improvements we can make use of (multiple e-mail addresses, search only in open issues) and will be the way to go due to the EOL cycles, I'd like to wait if the plugin gets compatible with this new version before building on it

Still no support for 3.0, just checked, so deferring this for the moment

See http://www.redminecrm.com/boards/4/topics/1500-redmine-3-support:

CRM - full support of Redmine 3.0+ (in private beta)

So it seems to be a matter of time until we can move forward here

Looking at http://www.redminecrm.com/projects/crm/pages/last - would the free version fit, Italo, or do we need looking into a paid variant?

Actions #5

Looking at the features, I suggest to get the paid version. Although we do not need the "commercial" features like deals and offers, we definitely need import/export, as we are speaking of thousand contacts, and email sending.

Checking license details with their support to roll out a test installation now that we have migrated to Redmine 3.0.3 (#1357)

Assigning to Italo to get feedback

Italo, is there still use for for this, given we have phpList running now?
If so, I will factor in time for deployment into Q4

We need the CRM for the journalist address book. phpList is a list of
emails, while I have other information such as phone numbers.

Gathering some internal feedback on how to proceed, then will follow-up

Adding to today's team call, Italo should ask them if they have discounts for nonprofits, so I can buy properly

No discounts (or rather, no reply received from them) - will get the regular license and deploy in Q1 then
