Description

To foster advertising of tenders and roles, Mike had the idea to create a flyer.
Florian proposes a backside with generic TDF information so we can easily re-use it, and the front-side with content depending on the concrete tender/job opportunity.

Yes, for the general bit we could talk about:

  • A bit of history about the Foundation
  • Structure and how it works (eg decision making)
  • Growth: people, code commits etc. -- positive future
  • Fun people, great community, lots of events

I will look into this next time there's a new job up.

So, here's a generic flyer (made in Draw) that's not for any specific role but could be adapted accordingly. Due to space constraints it may not be possible to have all details on the front side, but it should serve as a tempter to get potential applicants to investigate further.

Looks good to me, thanks so much!
Some thoughts:

  • Maybe change the black bars on the front page with something more inviting, like green? ;-)
  • Do we have licensing information for the picture?

Here's an updated flyer, with green bars instead of black, and an image from Collabora that Michael Meeks gave us CC0 (public domain) permission to use.

Florian, if you're happy with it, I'll do some more promotion of this tender using the PDF!

Some last fixes:

  • use tdf.io/tenders as short URL
  • Can you add a sentence "Our infrastructure is based on 4 large hypervisors with about 50 KVM-based virtual machines primarily running on Debian 8, deployed using StaltStack."?
  • For the tools add "etc." at the end of the line
  • add "fluent in English" separated by "," to the communicator line
  • Can we squeeze "mentoring skills to onboard new volunteers" in? ;-)
  • the deadline is July 15, not August :)
  • can you add TDF's address (street, web, email) to the 2nd page as a small footer?

Updated version with the changes suggested by Florian in comment #9.

One proposal received was to add a QR code (pointing to the tdf.io short URL). Sounds worthwhile :-)
Will share should I get further feedback

OK, here's a version with a QR code! I'm not sure if it's much use for digital -- after all, people will just click the link rather than get out their phone and take a pic -- but it's good idea to remember in case we make printed versions one day.

Thanks a lot! Let's wait for further feedback until Monday and then we
can publish it :)

  • Status changed from In Progress to Closed

This has been published and used to advertise a tender now; as it's complete, I'll close the ticket. I'll add a template flyer to the wiki for future usage.
