Task #2918
closedupdate web site services page (find abandoned accounts/pages) and reach out for new owners
0%
Description
As discussed in the Munich team meeting, this page contains lots of links, but not all are active (or are just very dated: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Website/Web_Sites_services
This could be a good opportunity to reach out to the wider l10n community (and open source communities as a whole), to get new people updating/maintaining the pages and services. Below are some notes...

Yes, I'll share with the website and l10n lists now, and when I'm back from vacation, see what responses we have. After that, I'll work on finding abandoned social media channels...

Some good news here -- we've had offers from the community to update the Slovak, Estonian and Sorbian LibreOffice websites. I've poked infra with the details, as I can't do all the site copying/user granting myself, though.

So I've gone through the social media sites and services in various languages, and most are still really active, which is great to see. However, some have been dormant for a while, as listed below, so I'll reach out to the community to see if anyone wants to help (and gain valuable experience with running social media):

Reached out on the blog and social media for help: https://blog.documentfoundation.org/blog/2019/12/14/help-our-community-with-social-media-in-various-languages-and-locations/

This worked well -- by reaching out we have new contributors for Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian and other languages. So I think this is done for now, but I will revisit the idea in six months to see what sites/channels need help.
