The 6.2 video had over 77,000 views: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HUnR5IoAQk

So it's definitely worth continuing these, I think. Steps to take:

  • Draft a script for notable features using the release notes: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/6.3
  • Send script to marketing-priv@ for feedback (allow around a week for this)
  • Collect screenshots and make video clips for the features
  • Record audio and make updates where necessary
  • When the audio is finished, put the final EN script on the wiki for translations (try translation extension)
  • Get l10n communities to translate, and add subtitles on YouTube
  • Add link to PR, and make public on launch day
