Description

For accessibility reasons, a search button has been requested for the website.

On the current and new website design, there is no button to confirm the input of the search box, one has to use the keyboard Enter / Return key. Some people will favour using a pointer or touch screen over keyboard presses for various reasons, and would therefore benefit from a button.

Here is the original text from Bugzilla:

"I am a quadriplegic and use my voice to navigate the web. On the homepage, there is a search box that allows you to enter terms to search for more detailed information. However, after typing the search term in the box, there is no place to click to return your search results. The only way to activate the search results is by pulling up an on-screen keyboard and pressing enter. From an accessibility standpoint, it would be much easier to have a small magnifying glass, a picture of a question mark, or a button with the word search to return the wanted results.
[...]
If an input box were present, I could return results by clicking the search key instead of having to pull up the on-screen keyboard."

On the new website, there is no need to click as the results appear while typing. You can then either click on a result or tab + enter. In the preview of the new site the search does not work, probably due to missing cross-origin resource sharing configs (for JavaScript).

Ah, great to know! You're right, I didn't know it was instant because results don't show currently.
Thank you, we can close this one I guess!
