Design proposal for new release page
Added by Juan José González 5 months ago.
Updated 2 months ago.
Description
When installing a new version of LibreOffice an arbitrary web page can be opened.
Design a proposal to show the latest changes, invite to donate and contribute.
Make it friendly and eye-catching for non technical users.
Files
Attach screenshots for mobile and desktop versions.
The layout is responsive, build using hugo.
Feedback from Xisco:
There is too much space between header and list of changes. It is not intuitive that you have to scroll.
There is not a welcome message, like "You have updated..."
Link to details does not work.
We need a more notorious message to donate.
Show all changelog without "show more".
I reduced the empty space for header.
Added a message that version was updated and an illustration emphasizing this.
Link to detailed changelog was fixed.
A new message to donate and contribute added.
The changelog is showed as a whole.
Add an indicator to scroll more where changelog is not visible.
Feedback from team meeting 2025-01-13
- Remove "LibreOffice 24.8.3" and just have "You have updated your LibreOffice installation to version 24.8.3", so that the donate buttons are higher
- "Our community is constantly improving LibreOffice suite" -> "Our community is constantly improving LibreOffice"
- "On this release" -> "In this release"
- "2024 The Document Foundation" -> "2025 The Document Foundation"
- We need screenshots of the most visible improvements
- But the page is for LO 24.8.3, so there are only bugfixes rather than new features. If we show screenshots of general new features in LO 24.8 it might be confusing to users
