Description

During LibOCon, we should organize media trainings for people speaking about LibreOffice and TDF.

When doing so, we should not focus only on media training, but rather on marketing per se, e.g. looking at the missing translations for press releases.
-> Not so many people will be interviewed by the press, but support in marketing is needed from all native-language projects, so limiting the bus factor here is worthwhile

IMHO, two completely different tasks. Last year in Bern I organized both: media trainings/public speaking sessions for people supposed to speak at events, and marketing sessions about the different marketing tasks (including distribution of press releases and collection of clippings). Unfortunately, one of the latter was cancelled for lack of attendees, while all media trainings/public speaking sessions were attended by several people. We should probably schedule marketing sessions within the community track, because many community people do not look at marketing.

I suggest to make do an evaluation of previous years, to get a good knowledge of people's needs

What about scheduling the workshops once we have defined the entire agenda, in order to avoid overlappings? We could also plan them during the lunch break, or in the late afternoon (according to opening times and room availability of the conference venue). I suggest to add this item to the agenda of Florian/Sophie meeting.

I propose to not have it during lunch break, otherwise nobody will show up ;-)
But I'll add the question to the agenda for the Aarhus meeting indeed

A quick question: Do we need a separate room for that, or have you filed the marketing training and/or workshop as session already with the program comittee?

No, I have not filed them as workshop proposals, although we can find spots for doing so after the program has been finalized (as we did last year).

Ok, so we should NOT plan in a separate room, right? (Rooms are getting
a bit low, so if we don't have to, that's ideal...)

I will organize a public speaking workshop for the Italian community on September 12, so I will have updated presentation materials before the conference.

Closing this one now as I think it's been dealt with (and was not part of the milestones). Italo, if there's something left to do, please let me know.
