Description

As with previous releases, I will make a video showcasing the new features. Steps required:

  • Analyse https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/6.0 and see what we should highlight
  • Talk to developers about any other new features that aren't on that page (or need more info)
  • Prepare draft of the script and circulate on marketing-priv@
  • Record audio
  • Record video clips
  • Edit it all together, and check on marketing-priv@ again
  • Put script on wiki and ask for translations from l10n community
  • Make video live on release day, promote and link in press release

Mike, let's also have a look at what media has been underlining as new interesting features of LibreOffice 6.0. For instance, Phoronix - Michael Larabel is very knowledgeable about LibreOffice - has covered threading in Calc (https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=LibreOffice-Calc-Threading).

Yes, that's a good point. Looking at https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/6.0 I can't see any mention of the Calc threading mentioned in Phoronix yet, and as we've passed feature-freeze it may not be in this release. I'll mail the developers to check.

In the meantime I'm working on a draft script and aim to have it ready later this week (beta 2) for suggestions and improvements.
