create demo package for LibreOffice Online
Added by Mike Saunders about 6 years ago.
Updated over 5 years ago.
Target version:
Team - Q3/2018
Description
LibreOffice Online is becoming more powerful with every release, so it would be good to have an easy-access demo pack of documents, that we can use to show off the features. For instance, the attached LibreOffice_Conference.odt file can be used in LOOL demos to show:
- Formatting / styles
- Embedded images
- Embedded tables
- Collaborative editing
- Comments and change tracking
The content is about an unrelated topic, however – it'd be better to make the content more relevant to LOOL, almost like the file itself is an interactive demo.
Also create:
- Sample spreadsheet for LOOL Calc
- Sample presentation for LOOL Impress (LibreOffice_Online.odp attached as an overview, but could be improved)
Then place them in a Nextcloud folder called "TDF Demo", read only, and shared with everyone.

Any progress here? Otherwise I propose to shift this to a later date
- Target version changed from Q2/2018 to Q3/2018
Yes, I plan to work on this this week. There are two main things left to do:
- Create a useful spreadsheet file to go alongside the ODT and ODP files
- Update the content to reflect the community and encourage people to get involved
Will sort it out this week.
OK, I've worked on this now and it's here: https://nextcloud.documentfoundation.org/s/rc2cxo4kGRWTHTZ
- Sample text document.odt: shows styles, images, collaborative editing, comments, tables
- Sample spreadsheet.ods: shows formatting, charts, images, formulas
- Sample presentation.odt: shows formatting and background images
We're currently using LibreOffice Online 6.0 on our Nextcloud setup, so I may be missing some features, but will talk to Guilhem about possible updates.
- Status changed from New to In Progress
LOOL 6.1 will be deployed after LibOCon, so I'll then take in any community feedback, add new features for the 6.1 release, and then we're done!
- Status changed from In Progress to Closed
This is now available on Nextcloud if anyone wants it, so closing.
