Task #2208

add missing hosts to monitoring
Added by Florian Effenberger over 7 years ago.
Updated almost 5 years ago.
Target version:
Team - Q1/2020
Description
There are certain new hosts/VM that need adding to the monitoring
Also the underlying problem should be fixed, so at least basic monitoring (ping, SSH, maybe SMTP) should be done automatically via Salt.
- Status changed from New to In Progress
- Target version changed from Q2/2017 to Q3/2017
I think this is something Guilhem can handle as well
Guilhem, assinging this ticket to you - feel free to sync with Cloph on the status quo and on how to proceed
- Assignee changed from Christian Lohmaier to Guilhem Moulin
Guilhem, Cloph, what's the status of this? All done, still pending, paused?

PING?
From the Nov. 21 infra call minutes:
+ [rdm#2208] add missing hosts to monitoring
- we need to run salt on the monitoring (and backup) host after each new
host/VM deployment
- salt only adds basic ping/web-check - specific services need to be
added manually/separately
So the situation is still not ideal, let's keep this open for now.
What's the status of this? Or is it deprecated in favor of a new monitoring solution?
The latter, but keeping open until the new solution (Prometheus) is fully deployed.
- Target version changed from Q4/2017 to Q2/2018
- Related to Task #2210: monitoring notifications added
- Target version changed from Q2/2018 to Q2/2019
Any updates on the status?

Last status update is a year ago - can this ticket be closed, are things pending?
