Description

WIth some time in advance, if (and only if!) we are sure we are rather safe from our side - see all the other tickets in #751 - it needs to be arrangeed that a BugZilla database dump will be provided
Best is to get in touch with Norbert for that, ~Nov 7 or so

Had a chat with Tollef about database dumps from FDO. Because FDO has recently updated their Bugzilla install to 4.4.5, Tollef is going to provide us with an updated database dump so that we can retest using the most current database schema.

It's possible that FDO will upgrade again (to the latest 4.4.6), but I think this is a minor issue as (1) the version difference will be very minor, and (2) we can coordinate w/Tollef to ensure that we all know which Bugzilla version will be running during testing and during the actual migration period.

Getting the database dump should be scheduled for a time when all the other tasks required have been dealt with, to avoid Tollef working on that again and again. More then on the phone in a few minutes. ;-)

From my latest conversations w/Tollef, it sounds like he was quite happy to give us an updated db dump periodically, to help us prepare the migration testbed. I don't think we should ask for a dump each week, but every few weeks is probably fine.

  • Due date deleted (2014-11-07)
  • Priority changed from Urgent to Normal

Next dump needed when concrete ETA for migration is clear, until then we work with the existing dump
Thus lowering priority and removing deadline

With target of Jan 24th for migration, I'm putting a due date of Dec 31st here; Tollef is off after Jan 6th, so it would be good to have the dump before the New Year.

Tollef said that he'll provide a new database dump before he goes on vacation.

Keep in mind Tollef will be on vacation early January IIRC, so this should be dealt with soon

Yep, I was hoping to hear back from him by the end of the year. I've pinged him again.
