Task #2340
closed
LibreOffice download page - please change torrent file to be downloaded using https instead of current http link
Added by Olivier Hallot over 7 years ago.
Updated almost 7 years ago.
Target version:
Team - Pool
- Related to Task #2312: Avoid serving web content over http:// when possible added
- Priority changed from Normal to Low
- Target version set to Qlater
Set to later and low prio
We might also have others who only can use HTTP, but not HTTPS...
Adding Cloph to the Watchers list as I'm not quite sure how the download page is generated. I assume you have a script to build it, is that correct? In that case looks like upgrading the links to the .torrent
and .mirrorlist
files to https://
would be enough to close this issue, since as you pointed out during the last infra call small files are not served by the mirrors but by our own HTTPd.

Cloph, any feedback?

Just talked about it on IRC :-) .torrent (and .mirrorlist) links are now protected:
$ lynx -listonly -nonumbers -dump https://libreoffice.org/download | grep -F download.documentfoundation.org | sed 's/:.*\./ /' | sort -u
http msi
https mirrorlist
https torrent
Same thing on https://de.libreoffice.org/download and https://it.libreoffice.org/download.
