Task #3644
closedUpgrade the Documentation Foundation Wiki to use Vecter 2022 skin
100%
Description
Since January 18, 2023, English Wikipedia enabled brand new Vector 2022 skin, the skin is designed to make the interface more welcoming and usable for readers and maintaining utility for existing editors. Since then, it would be nice to adopt the new skin to our wiki to give more friendly look.

The skin comes with MediaWiki 1.38 and above, so with the next LTS upgrade to 1.39, we could use it. However, I understand that we use some custom skin of our own. I have no experience with modifying the skin (do we need to modify it?).

Something maybe for Dennis, if he still takes care of the wiki?

If such modifications are made following instructions from MediaWiki, they should be found out easily after seeing documentations at MediaWiki website, and then you can port some of them to Vector 2022 skin.

Dennis hasn't been involved on the backend of the production instance since the migration from kermit in early 2017 :-) I think I took care of all upgrades since then, and will take care of that one too.
