I've cc'd Arnaud (as he'll be leading the Toulouse Hackfest), Bjoern, and Cloph.
Moggi mentioned that there will be lighter use of the VMs in Toulouse, but I do think that we want to get the docs finished and tested soon.
Ideally we'd have at least 1 developer at each hackfest who has, prior to the event, followed all of the instructions to set up and use a VM. This will- Ensure that the instructions are roughly complete
- Ensure that someone at the Hackfest knows how to use X2Go, etc..

Cloph to provide Robinson with access to the VMs within 24 hours
Robinson to provide documentation and brief Arnaud within 48 hours

Documentation updated based on information from cloph, and parts of the wiki page re-written for clarity.
Based on feedback from testers I added additional information about using PuTTY on Windows. Everything seemed to work out well for the Hackfest in Toulouse.
