Description

We need at least one up-to-date LibreOffice flyer with a roundup of the product, the community and how to get involved
This might very well be split up into several flyers to target difference audience groups (users, contributors, companies)

Thomas Krumbein produced a German flyer that we could use as basis, the German speaking staff members can help with a translation Google Translate can provide a first rough draft. Cor Nouws provided a valuable link as well that we should factor in.

The flyer should be aimed at translation and reprinting by native language communities, and therefore should be produced with either Draw or Scribus, and the text needs to be available as text file to easily edit within a word processor.

We're desperately lacking an English flyer, so it might make sense to have this one translated and printed as well

I would suggest to look at this one:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Marketing/Material#Flyer_.._simple_version_2014
and then maybe adapt the front more in style ??

Thomas has one that's fancy designed, which I would recommend
Will share when it's done

No reason to have any doubt on that.
But if I have a proposal, sharing feed back and ideas is appreciated to improve on that too. After all it is a flyer that we do use (up until now..)

nice flyers, thanks!

But I take objection to the fact that my comment #3 is ignored.
That flyer is a different approach and possibly both have their use? You may be interested that the text on that has been reviewed over time by close to 10 people...

Didn't want to ignore you - I leave this topic to Italo, will raise the issue again during today's team call :)

My previous comment probably caused some confusion:
What I wanted to say is that Italo is wearing the hat on this task, and I would like to ask him to have a look at Cor's proposal as well, to see how it can change/extend the current flyer; I'm fine if we end up with two flyers in the end

I have downloaded all flyers and postcards, and will make a proposal for a LibreOffice based document (possibly, Draw) for LibreOffice 5.0. I suppose that I will have to mix Thomas Krumbein excellent design based on LibreOffice 5.0 elements with Cor's simpler text. Maybe, we can have a basic flyer covering the four more important applications (Writer, Calc, Impress and Draw) and and advanced flyer covering all elements (Base, Macros, etcetera). Also, the concept of a postcard, which is also easy to distribute as PDF, is quite interesting, as it offers a list of the most important entry point to the project). The only part I am missing is the editable text of Thomas' flyer, which I have just asked him by email.

Italo - here are the german text-parts exported to an odt-Document. Maybe you need some format-work.

Regarding the pictures: they are just screenshots which can be found in wiki (years ago...)
They should be reworked for the 5.0 version (different surface) - so just produce new one.

I have done this only for writer and calc (both pictures attached)

additional information:

At the moment I produce 3 different flyers in German for three user-groups - in the way of "why LibreOffice".

Coordination and design in task #1367 - all ideas wellcome:))

At the moment, I have to focus on the announcement of LibreOffice 5.0, so this is postponed until the end of July.
