How many volunteers are handling this, or is it just you working on it? If so, we maybe should try to find volunteers to distribute the work :)

I think I'm the only one doing it (and that was the reason why I took care of it, because nobody was doing it :-)

Occasionally I also have a look at moderation queue, esp. When the switch

We discuss it during a team call, the problem is that moderators are not looking at the moderation queue, whatever the language. That's the reason I'm doing moderation here.

Is that a technical problem that we could invest into to make it more
convenient, or some other issue?

There is nothing technical, I think that those who are moderators don't have the time to do it.

Maybe something to ask in e.g. the next marketing call? Not directly marketing, but I expect quite some audience there :-)
