Wiki: Disable editing by double click
Added by Samuel Mehrbrodt over 9 years ago.
Updated over 9 years ago.
Description
When I click on ony page in the wiki (while being logged in), it switches to edit mode.
I find this very confusing.
Double click is used to select a word for copying, so whenever I want to select something, I get redirected to the edit page.
Is there any good use of this feature? If not, would it be possible to turn it off?
- Status changed from New to Rejected
- Assignee set to Dennis Roczek
- Status changed from Rejected to Closed
It's not standard per se - back in the old days when I created the wiki
configuration, I enabled it, and it also annoyed me every once in a
while, to be honest. ;-)
I'm not opposed to disabling the feature if more users support this -
Samuel or Dennis, one of you wants to poke the website@ list for some
feedback on this?

done.
I agree with Samuel. Double click hinders editing, particularly in translations. I disabled it for me.

+1 to disable by default.
I guess it's possible that some people might like that workflow, especially if they use MediaWiki in other orgs. Can it be disabled by default so that individuals can enable it for themselves?
