Description

Our current wiki needs to be migrated to a new VM, alongside a new wiki version.

Tasks that need doing:

  • provide the VM incl. basic nginx
  • test the wiki migration (new VM, new version)
  • make final deployment

Status of the VM as per Dennis is:

  • nginx seems to be missing
  • PHP is installed but not properly configured
  • MySQL is configured
  • MediaWik is installed, some extensions are missing

see above, php per se is working

is the MySQL server password stored somewhere ?

I mostly need the nginx, php part. should be rather easy for somebody who has worked with nginx already (me not). All the other stuff is for me very easy. (when i have time, but always answer to questions per mail or telegram)

Oh sorry, I wasn't aware of this ticket :-( And I thought vm163 was the testwiki to play around with, not the soon-to-be production wiki…

Anyway yeah, I deployed MediaWiki 1.28 and a snapsnot of kermit's DB & uploads to a fresh Debian 8 VM. Dennis is currently reviewing the result; you can also check it out by using a local DNS resolver or adding the following line to your /etc/hosts:

89.238.68.189 wiki.documentfoundation.org
