I think #FFD74C is the best one from that list to change the current page as little as possible. However, more people need to put feedback here, because I think pages like the download one are controlled more strictly.

In your mail, you write

Do I need to write an email to the marketing list for a change like this (a change to the download button might be considered as a marketing question even though it is just a small colour variation)?

Let me add Mike Saunders to Cc, who has been working on our updated download page. In fact, we'd love to have better download buttons, but we need someone to design these! So if you reach out to the design@ list or have an usable design we can deploy, very happy to do so!

OK, this was a quick job so I've changed the download button colour from "yellow" in the CSS to #FFD74C as Jean Spiteri mentioned, which is "Yellow Accent" from https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Marketing/Branding#Colors

So now it uses the proper colour scheme. If anyone wants to contribute better buttons though, go ahead!

During the design process for the new site, we decided that we don't need to stick with branding colours, so this request is obsolete.
